Out of the Closet at Atha

When I tried to come out at 23, I slid back in because of my mother's response.

This pride I'm owning my identity as a queer woman. 🌈

The response from my family mattered less to me this time because I've learned no amount of approval replaces authenticity & personal freedom.

I share this with you today to say thank you to those who have seen me and supported through this process. Also in acknowledgement to those who are still struggling this pride month to identify & express their own truths.

Yoga itself means Unity with one's Self.

We're all on this journey to embracing who we truly are.

My prayer is that we can all be safe and courageously be seen.

However you identify, whatever your sexuality. If you're in the closet, or out and proud. If you're struggling and seeking community, or embodied and available to offer support. We appreciate your presence at Atha. ✨
